A bit about me, and Lara Jacques Photography...
My Husband would tell you I am also married to my camera. My toddler would say the same; and my dog. actually, everyone that knows me would say the same and tell you how much I love photography, and that I never go anywhere without my camera.
When I was young, friends and family would always rely on me to capture the photos - I was rarely seen without my camera. My first work experience when I was 15 (MANY moons ago!) was at a photography studio. In those days, there were no digital cameras, only film and we had to stand in a pitch black room to develop the photos. Now, life is much easier; and I have a lovely spot in my house, where I sit with my coffee and edit photos from my shoots. Sometimes I drive my husband mad as all I do is talk photography. However, it has rubbed off on my son who has taken many good photographs with his little camera!
Some people do Yoga to relax; I do photography. It is my escape from a busy family life and I love being able to make people smile and forge new relationships with my clients. I'm still in touch with many of my clients which is just wonderful.
I learn new skills every day, and I have been lucky enough to learn from the best. (Thank you Alexis Knight). I just love being a photographer and I'm happiest outdoors in a field or woods, capturing memories for my clients to cherish. I'm not a studio photographer. We live in such a beautiful part of the country, we need to be outdoors to appreciate it. So dig out those wellies and warm clothes and we can go and capture those photos you've been putting off!
My background means I am highly professional, crb cleared, discreet and friendly. I just love meeting new people.
A lot of people worry about whether their child, horse or dog (or partner!) is 'performing'. No part of my coverage involves fake 'posing' - my aim is to capture real smiles and fun so if something is not working, we take a break and go and play! My job is to get ready to pounce when the time is right; your job is to relax and enjoy the moment and not worry about what your little one is doing. I have patience and lots of it!
My helpers are listed below- I owe them lots of thanks for their assistance over the years!
1. If it bends, bend it
2. Photograph what you love
3. Be the photographer you want to be and be yourself; this is when you shine
